Dual Admission

Dual Admission is a special transfer program between Ursuline and Tri-C. Through Dual Admission, you will start your college degree at Tri-C, taking one course per semester at Ursuline at the Tri-C rate. This program allows you to try Ursuline without any commitment. Your Ursuline classes will even reverse-transfer to Tri-C to fulfill requirements for your Associates degree.

As a Dual Admission student, you are fully integrated into campus life at Ursuline while attending Tri-C full time. You’ll have peace of mind knowing you’re on track to earn a bachelor’s degree from Ursuline from your very first semester at Tri-C thanks to an early relationship with your Ursuline Advisor.

Other benefits of Dual Admission include:

  • Seamless enrollment at Ursuline after your fourth semester at Tri-C – no additional application is required
  • Advisors at both Tri-C and Ursuline to ensure you are on track.
  • Opportunity to take one class each fall and spring semester at Ursuline while attending Tri-C. These four classes at Ursuline are billed at the Tri-C tuition rate.
  • Access to Ursuline’s library, computer labs, advising, Office of Counseling and Career services, Athletic Center, campus events, and more.

Qualifications for Dual Admission

You can become a Dual Admission student at Ursuline directly from high school or after you’ve already been enrolled at Tri-C.

If you’re applying for Dual Admission as a high school student, you’ll need to meet the same criteria as students applying to Ursuline for full-time enrollment directly from high school. To make a qualified decision on high school applicants, the Admission Committee will holistically consider the strength of your high school curriculum, high school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, writing ability and community/extracurricular involvement. While no minimum grade point average, class rank or standardized test scores are specified in this process for admission to most academic programs, these measures must provide evidence of your ability to be successful in courses at Ursuline. If your intended major in college is Nursing, Ursuline will look for a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 with grades higher than C in Chemistry, Biology, and Algebra II, along with an ACT composite of 20 or higher.

If you’re applying after already enrolling at Tri-C, you’ll need to meet the criteria listed above if you have earned fewer than 12 non-developmental, transferrable credits. If you have earned more than 12 non-developmental, transferrable credits, they must include ENG 1010 and MATH1250 or higher with a minimum grade of C in each and cumulative GPA of 2.0 to be accepted for the Dual Admission program with Ursuline.
