Take your many interests and study them all.

The Humanities Program encourages students to take a broad and integrative view of the arts and the humanities. The curriculum includes the study of art, music, drama, foreign languages, history, philosophy, literature, and religion. As components of culture, these studies provide a deeper understanding of the individual and of the world.

You’ll take the following classes, in addition to your Ursuline Core Curriculum. You can select two courses to count for both the Core and your major in Humanities to fulfill the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities. Half of your classes must be taken at the 300+ level.

  • One Art class
  • One drama class
  • One American Literature course in English
  • One British Literature course in English
  • One American history course
  • One World history course
  • Two Modern Language courses
  • One Music course
  • Two Philosophy courses
  • Two Religious Studies courses
  • Humanities 490 – Senior Project
